Andrew and Maja Break Bread | Merrillville, Indiana | Photobooth
Two families became one at the Croatian Center of Merrillville, Indiana. Andrew and Maja shared Macedonian wedding traditions, lots of dancing, a photo booth, and a delightful meal.
Breaking Bread wasn’t exactly the term used for the tradition. The bread was passed out by bridesmaids and shared between all the guests for good luck. This is different than the bread that was passed around at the wedding cermeony that took place at the church.
Tucked in the back hallway, the photo booth with mustaches and signs on sticks, hotdog and hamburger hats, tiaras and crowns, along with a bunch of different glasses was ready to entertain. A 4×6 photo strip with 3 photos captured all the hilarious poses. Black scrapbook paper was the perfect backdrop for the photo strips as guests wrote messages with a white marker for Andrew and Maja to take home.
Tall vase centerpieces showed a lit up rose inside under a huge bouquet of flowers. Blush pink uplighting surrounded the room and was also in the sashes on the white chairs and bridesmaids dresses. In the vestibule was a huge canvas frame with a giant letter P on it doubling as a guest book.
The evenings entertainment was provided by a band and dj; a perfect mixture of Macedonian and American music for all the guests. They took turns playing cocktail hour, dinner hour, and then the dancing sets allowing ample breaks for everyone that danced.
