Rachel and Paul Rustic Winter Wedding | Wicker Park | DJ
It was snowing inside Wicker Park as Rachel and Paul celebrated their wedding. Guests fell in love with all the personal touches from the ‘Shoe-ly’ wed game, cake smashing, fun dj, bridesmaids in boots and fur, and the homemade decorations.
Family and friends were greeted by Paul and Rachel at the front door while soft music played in the background. Picking up their pine cone table place card, signing the guest book, and voting for ‘Who Wears the Cake’ before enjoying some butler style hors d’oeuvres inside Wicker Park.
The bride’s brother announced the wedding party Monster Truck Rally style, prior to Rachel and Paul thanking everybody. Rachel’s father stole the show with some truthful jokes explaining how Paul asked him for his daughter’s hand in marriage while he was out cutting the grass. The shoe game entertained guests during dinner as Rachel’s cousin read questions like “who made the first move” and “who do you love most in the whole wide world?”
Snowflakes fell as the DJ played Elvis’s “Can’t Help Falling in Love” for the first dance. The dance floor was immediately full as Kevin Bacon shouted “Hey hey, what’s this I see? I thought this was a party?” from the movie Footloose.
Instead of the traditional cake cutting, guests voted on who should wear the cake. Rachel ended up winning, but Paul got a large anonymous donation that put him over the top. The large donation didn’t stop him from wearing the cake too though. Cupcakes, cookies, rice treats, chocolates, pound cake and more filled the dessert table among a giant light house and candle lit winter decorations.
