Susie’s Sweet 16 Golden Birthday Party – St. Mary’s Orthodox Center – Merrillville, Indiana

Susie’s Sweet 16, her golden birthday, entertained her friends and family at St. Mary’s Orthodox Center in Merrillville, IN. Guests loved the  uplighting, balloon arch, sweets table, and slide show.

Susie saved a special song, Hero by Enrique Iglesias, as a surprise and had it played for her father as the 2nd to last song of the night. This put a tear in many eyes and everyone gathered around them while the father and daughter danced to the song they first danced to many years ago at a father – daughter dance. Susie also danced with her mother to a song off the Footloose soundtrack – Almost Paradise.

Before everyone sang Happy Birthday, as a joke everyone sang part of “take me out to the ball game.” Pudgy rabbit was played after Happy Birthday was sung during cake cutting. If you don’t know what Pudgy Rabbit is, just click the link above.

 

There were actually two slide shows during the sweet 16, one of family and one of friends thanks to Susie’s Aunt. Many friends from the pictures were in attendance while flashing back to younger years. Right after the slide shows were completed, the disc jockey hit the lights and the party started with Black Eyed Peas – I Got A Feeling.

The pink and black theme was in almost every decoration. The disc jockey’s equipment had a pink shine to it, the room gleamed with a pink frost from the uplighting, the entrance and tables were floating with pink and black balloons from Popo’s Parties, and the sweet table was full of candies and sweets in pink, black, and white. It was a very sweet, sweet 16 at St Mary’s Orthodox in Merrillville, Indiana.
