Wirt Troopers Class of 1975 Reunion | Radisson | DJ
The Troopers 40th Reunion was a party for the books at the Radisson in Merrillville, Indiana. Dancing all night, exquisite food, and phenomenal décor all added to part two of the 3 day class reunion.
Soul train lines, line dances, Disco, Motown, Funk, Top 40 and more kept the party jumpin’ like no other reunion. The DJ was also tasked to play top music from 1971-1975 while playing some class favorites that were left as noted during the 25 year reunion. The red and white records were a nice accent to the record players adding to the nostalgia of the evening.
Custom lanyards and picture IDs were waiting as guests arrived. Classmates took pictures with friends and significant others early on and then as a class just before dinner. The tables each had a centerpiece highlighted by a symbol of Wirt that classmates took home in a random drawing of IDs. Those symbols included “75,” a Trooper, the school crest, sports symbols, and more. A huge banner draped the dance floor providing a nice backdrop for photos.
Appetizers for the reunion were tomato bruschetta with Romano cheese crostini and mini chesse calzones. A few toasts and an invocation were given before the buffet dinner which consisted of roasted vegetarian lasagna, parmesan crusted chicken breast with pancetta cream, and Chianti braised beef short ribs, and other filling foods. Later in the night cannolis and ricotta cheese cake with fresh strawberries were presented on the appetizer table.
