Blown Away | Echols – Sanders Wedding | Indian American Cultural Center | Merrillville, Indiana | Drapery

We were blown away at the Indian American Cultural Center in Merrillville, Indiana by the wind and drapery at the Echols – Sanders wedding.

The bride was blown away when she stepped into the reception hall just before heading out back to her wedding ceremony. The bridesmaids and guests were being blown away during the ceremony by the wind but they pulled it off and even combined sand for the coming together of the two families.

The candy table contained  Reese’s Pieces, M&M’s, Starbusts, Now and Laters, mini candy bars, Skittles, and many more with little plastic to-go bags.  The drapery and uplighting hid the gold and maroon valences and drapery on the windows and above the bar. Drapery also hid a whole wall of windows, curtains, and wall dividers. Taffeta fabric covered the tables in green and silver while the chair covers had taffeta sashes in silver and yellow.

Later in the evening the bride and groom were blown away by a guest dedicating and singing a song to them. Guests pumped up the crowd on the mic and also said kind words to the bride and groom. A soul train line was started later in the night and it seemed like every generation was able to blow other guests away with their dance moves.

Wedding Drapery Indian American Cultural CenterThe Indian American Cultural Center provided the dinner in which they started off with a shrimp pasta for the appetizer. We had a huge display for dinner of chicken cacciatore, baked Virginia ham with pineapple sauce, garlic mashed potatoes, and Italian blend vegetables. Ice cream and the wedding cake were served for dessert. Yvette from After Yes Events planned and coordinated the event. The  candy table, gazebo, table linens, chair covers, tall vases with calla lilies, and other items were provided by After Yes Events.
