The Cinderella cake stole the show during cocktail hour with its castle topper and blue shimmering water fountain surrounded by pictures of the bride and groom. Pink and white roses in various vases decorated tables along with more pictures of Rose and Mike as guests snacked on cheese trays and vegetable trays.

Dancing started as Rose and Mike followed the wedding party into the reception to Jason Aldean’s – Just Getting Started. Toasts were very personal and touching on both sides sharing things they were thankful for and personal stories.

The DJ took guests on a musical adventure throughout the evening, but the main star was Rose’s son who sang Enrique Iglesias’s “Hero” while giving a toast during a musical break. Mechica Chichimeca, an Aztec dance group from Mexico, performed a few songs blessing the marriage while guests enjoyed their buffet style dinner.

During the first dance, Rose was singing every word to Mike. Afterward, she read him a poem, they thanked their guests, and Mike did a special shout out to his father for everything like his sons did for him during their toasts.

A few traditional Mexican moments took place all night like a dollar dance where guests pinned money onto Rose’s veil and taped money onto Mike’s jacket, a garter removal which had Mike blindfolded feeling the leg of Rose’s brother (not a custom), “La Vibora de la mar” or “the sea snake” where the single men made a huge snake or train and ran around the room passing under Rose’s veil, and finishing off the night with a giant group photo.
